⚠️ Important: no deposit, no enrolment certificate

AI2 issues your enrolment certificate only after your €5,000 deposit is paid. Campus France and the consulate ask for this certificate: without the deposit, your Études en France file and your visa application cannot go ahead.

Applying to AI2 is free: there is no application fee. If your visa or your Campus France file is officially refused, the deposit is refunded minus €300 of administrative fees, on presentation of the refusal letter. Pay only by the instructions in your AI2 documents, never to a personal account.

Your route from Taiwan in 6 steps

1
Get your enrolment attestation. It must name you, give the programme title and length, and show your English name exactly as on your passport.
2
Open your Études en France file. Campus France Taiwan’s flyer calls this route “I am accepted (My program is not on Études en France)”. The form is in English or French. If the programme is not in the catalogue, the 2025 sample says to choose 在系統目錄中找不到學程,請手動輸入學程 and type it by hand. The platform was renewed, so screens may differ.
3
Pay after review. The April 2025 sample lists NT$8,000, paid at a bank or post office counter, with no ATM or online transfer. Confirm the amount when your payment details appear. The fee is not refunded, even if the visa is refused.
4
Attend your Campus France interview. The office is at Suite A, 39F, No. 7, Sec. 5, Xinyi Rd, Taipei. Book through the online system, because a booked date cannot be changed. Bring your original passport, attestation with one copy, and highest qualification with one copy. Aim for at least one month before departure.
5
File your visa at the French Office. Campus France arranges student appointments, and filing can be the same day if your file is complete. The fee is €50, about NT$1,850. France-Visas mentions cash or EasyCard and Campus France mentions EasyCard, so load an EasyCard and check. The fee is kept if the visa is refused, and the visa section keeps your passport.
6
Arrive and validate. Validate your visa online within 3 months of arrival and pay the €100 tax.

When to start

Campus France Taiwan gives about 1 to 2 weeks for the online steps and 2 to 3 weeks for the visa, longer during winter and summer holidays. You can file up to six months before departure. For February 2027, start now.

A passport with an identity number lets you visit France for under 90 days without a visa, but a degree needs the long-stay student visa. Your passport must stay valid at least 3 months after the end of the visa requested.

How much money you must show

France requires at least €877.50 a month, about NT$32,000. Twelve months comes to €10,530, about NT$390,000.

Does a Taiwanese diploma get you in?

There is no legal equivalence between diplomas: the host institution decides. These are AI2’s entry points, and admissions confirms yours in writing.

English: AI2 asks for B2 level, shown by IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 72 or English-medium schooling. TOEFL iBT and IELTS are both available in Taiwan. Documents: for English-taught programmes, Campus France Taiwan asks for English documents and no French translation. Legalisation: Taiwan is not in the Apostille Convention. If you are ever asked for legalised documents, the chain runs through a notary, the Bureau of Consular Affairs, translation and the French Office. The Campus France pages we read do not ask for this, so wait until you are told to do it.

Funding and scholarships

AI2’s scholarships for excellence and early application can bring MSc Year 1 from €12,500 down to €10,500. The France Excellence Taiwan programme is for Master level at State-recognised public or private institutions, at €860 a month in 2026-27, with its next call announced for early 2027. It does not cover a Bachelor. Ask alumni.taipei-bfra@diplomatie.gouv.fr whether your MSc qualifies before you count on it.

Student visa or working holiday?

Taiwan is on France’s working holiday list, but that visa lasts one year and its main purpose is tourism. It is not a route into a Bachelor or MSc, so choose the student visa for a degree.

Is an AI2 qualification recognised?

AI2’s degree programmes prepare RNCP titles at Levels 6 and 7, recognised by the French State. Campus France states that the value of a French diploma is guaranteed by the State for national diplomas, Ministry-approved diplomas and titles registered in the RNCP. You can look up each code on the France Compétences website. See is AI2 recognised and all programmes.

After you graduate

The one-year job-search permit is open to master’s-level graduates, among others, so most bachelor’s graduates who want to stay continue to a master’s first. Any AI2 BSc graduate can progress to MSc Year 1. No school can promise a job or a visa, and AI2 does not. While you study, the student visa allows up to 964 hours of work a year.

Getting to the campus

EVA Air and China Airlines both sell Taipei to Paris. Check the current schedule before you book. Also read visa guidance, the guides for Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong, and all country guides.
