The Tunisian system in brief
In Tunisia, nine years of basic education and four years of secondary school lead to the baccalauréat. Higher education follows the LMD structure (licence, mastère, doctorat), alongside engineering schools.
- Licence: three years after the baccalauréat, fundamental or applied;
- Mastère: two years after the licence, professional or research;
- Engineering: two years of cycle préparatoire, then three years leading to the diplôme national d’ingénieur, five years after the baccalauréat;
- BTS: a two-year technical diploma after the baccalauréat.
Grades are given out of 20, as in France, so your transcript reads naturally for a French admissions team.

AI2 and IHE Tunis
AI2 has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Institut des Hautes Études de Tunis (IHE Tunis). This French–Tunisian partnership builds a bridge between Paris and Tunis: student exchanges, international mobility, and computer science and business pathways with AI in every programme. Students from any Tunisian institution can already apply through the standard admission process described here.
Studying in English, with a French bonus
No French is required for AI2’s English-taught programmes. If you already speak French, it is a real advantage for internships, everyday life in the Paris region and work after graduation. Prefer to study in French? AI2’s French-language programmes are presented on ai2-education.com.
Getting your diploma recognised in France
AI2 evaluates your diplomas and transcripts itself when you apply. For an official comparison of a Tunisian diploma, for an employer or another institution, the ENIC-NARIC France centre of France Éducation international issues attestations of comparability.
Visa and timing
Once admitted, you follow the Études en France procedure with Campus France Tunisie, then apply for a long-stay student visa. Plan to show at least €877.50 a month of resources. AI2 has three intakes in 2027: February, May and September; for February, the priority deadline is 30 November 2026.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to speak French to study at AI2 with a Tunisian diploma?
No. AI2’s programmes on ai2-education.eu are taught 100% in English. Many Tunisian students also speak French, which helps in daily life and internships in France, but it is not an admission requirement for these programmes.
Which entry level does a Tunisian licence give?
A licence (three years after the baccalauréat) usually leads to Year 1 of the two-year MSc. A mastère, a maîtrise or a diplôme national d’ingénieur can give direct entry to the 18-month MSc.
Does AI2 have a campus in Tunisia?
No. AI2’s only campus is in Écouen, 22 minutes from Paris Gare du Nord. AI2 has signed a memorandum of understanding with IHE Tunis, which builds a bridge between Paris and Tunis, but it does not run a campus in Tunisia.
How are Tunisian grades read?
Tunisian grades are given out of 20, like French ones, which makes your transcript easy to read for the admissions team. AI2 looks at your whole record, your projects and an online interview.
How do I get a French student visa from Tunisia?
Once admitted, you follow the Études en France procedure with Campus France Tunisie, then apply for a long-stay student visa. Plan to show at least €877.50 a month of resources.
