Study AI in France, build your career in Europe
Why France is one of the best places to study artificial intelligence, why AI and data skills pay, and the full path after your degree: job search, work permits, the 10-year residence card and French citizenship, step by step.

Why study in France
A European AI hub, a recognised qualification system and a clear path to stay.
Paris, Europe’s AI capital
Home to Station F, French AI champions such as Mistral AI, and the Paris research labs of global tech groups. Internships and jobs are a train ride away.
State-registered titles
AI2 programmes prepare French RNCP titles at Levels 6 and 7, readable across Europe through the European Qualifications Framework.
A clear path to stay
Master-level graduates can stay 12 months to find a job, then move to a work permit, a 10-year card and, in time, citizenship.
Quality of life
Public health insurance, €1 university meals, student transport passes and discounts on culture and travel.
Study in English, gain French
Every AI2 course is taught in English, with optional French classes each year: the French you will need later for residence permits.
Work while you study
Up to 964 hours a year with a student permit, and paid work-study contracts from the second year.
Living costs, housing and transport are detailed on Life in France.
Why AI and data

Frequently asked questions
How long can I stay in France after my MSc?
Up to 12 months with the job-search permit, a period in which you can work freely. Once you have a job linked to your studies, you move to an employee, Talent or EU Blue Card permit.
Do my years as a student count for the 10-year card?
No. The five years required for the resident card are counted under work and other eligible permits, not under the student permit.
When can I apply for French citizenship?
After 5 years of residence, or after only 2 years if you completed two successful years of higher education in France. You also need B2 French, the civic exam and stable professional integration.
Can my family join me?
Talent permits and the EU Blue Card allow your spouse and children to join you under simplified family procedures.
Can I travel in Europe with a French permit?
Yes. A French residence permit lets you travel in the Schengen area for short stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
Does AI2 help after graduation?
Yes. The career team prepares your CV, interviews and job search in your final year, and explains the permit options for your situation.
