In September 2026, AI2’s founding president and academic director Yacine Aslimi delivered a keynote at the IEEE World Skills Conference in Indore and a student masterclass in Pune, both on the skills that careers in data and AI require.

Keynote: “From Data to Decisions – Building the Human Skills Industry 5.0 Demands”
The two-day IEEE World Skills Conference on Universal Data Analytics and Sciences was held at Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences in Indore with the IEEE Computer Society Madhya Pradesh Section and the Centre for Industry 4.0. The keynote addressed the gap between the pace of technological change and the evolution of curricula, the three waves of AI (predictive, generative and agentic) and what these systems still cannot do reliably, why the unit of disruption is the task rather than the job, and the skills equation of Industry 5.0: domain expertise, AI literacy and human judgement.

Masterclass: “Build Skills That Travel – Global Careers in Data and AI”
As part of the World Classroom Series of the Centre for Global Engagement at Symbiosis Skills & Professional University in Pune, the masterclass gave students a practical view of careers in data and AI, the skills that travel across countries and industries, and the international study and work opportunities open to them.
