Students in Liberia apply for a French student visa without an Études en France step, lodge the file at VFS Global in Monrovia, and receive a decision from the French Consulate General in Abidjan. This guide explains that arrangement, how Liberian qualifications fit AI2, and costs in Liberian and US dollars.
AI2 – Applied Institute of Artificial Intelligence is an applied AI school on the Écouen campus, 22 minutes from Paris Gare du Nord. Its programmes are taught in English and prepare qualifications registered by the French State with France Compétences (RNCP) at level 6 (bachelor’s level) and level 7 (master’s level).
Applying from Liberia: what is specific to you
Which AI2 programme matches your studies
- WASSCE at the end of senior high school, with mathematics: the Bachelor in Applied AI.
- Two years of higher education, or an HND, in computing or engineering: the BSc final year.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited Liberian institution: the MSc Applied AI (Data Science, Cybersecurity or IoT).
- Four years of related higher education, a master’s or an engineering degree: the 11-month Fast-Track.
English-medium schooling can satisfy AI2’s B2 English requirement; see study in France without IELTS.
Straight to France-Visas
Liberia does not appear among the Études en France countries, so no Campus France fee or pre-consular interview applies. Once AI2 admits you, you complete the long-stay application form on France-Visas yourself and then book the appointment.
The AI2 side happens entirely online: you apply on apply now, attend an online interview with the academic team, and receive the admission letter that your visa file is built around. Without a Campus France review, it is worth asking a second person to check your file against the France-Visas checklist before the appointment.
VFS Global Monrovia and the Abidjan consulate
France-Visas lists the VFS Global centre at the Royal Grand Hotel, 15th Street Sinkor / Tubman Boulevard, Monrovia. It takes applications by appointment on Mondays and Tuesdays, from 8:30 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 5 pm. Appointments are booked through VFS Global’s France pages for Côte d’Ivoire (visa.vfsglobal.com/civ/fr/fra/), because the file is decided by the Consulate General of France in Abidjan.
France-Visas notes that long-stay processing times vary with the purpose of stay and that files needing civil-status checks can take several months. Gather birth certificates and similar records early so they do not hold you up.
