Looking for a master’s in France as a Malaysian student? AI2 offers English-taught MSc programmes in applied AI, data science, cybersecurity and IoT near Paris, open to graduates from Malaysia, with a State-registered qualification at master’s level (RNCP level 7).
Malaysia is an Études en France country, so a Malaysian student admitted to AI2 has the file validated by Campus France Malaysia before asking for a visa. Unlike most of its neighbours, Malaysia has no outsourced visa centre for France: you lodge the application in person at the French Embassy’s visa section in Kuala Lumpur.
AI2 – Applied Institute of Artificial Intelligence is an applied AI school on the Écouen campus, 22 minutes from Paris Gare du Nord. Its programmes are taught in English and prepare qualifications registered by the French State with France Compétences (RNCP) at level 6 (bachelor’s level) and level 7 (master’s level).
Applying from Malaysia: what is specific to you
Études en France with Campus France Malaysia
After AI2 has admitted you, complete your Études en France file and wait for Campus France Malaysia to validate your documents. Forward the official PDF receipt to cf.malaysia@ambafrance-as.fr, then book your interview with a Campus France agent.
Malaysian qualifications and AI2 programmes
- SPM, STPM or a foundation programme, with mathematics: Bachelor in Applied AI, Year 1.
- Diploma from a polytechnic, college or university representing at least two years of higher education: BSc final year (top-up).
- Bachelor’s degree (including Honours degrees) in a computing, engineering or quantitative subject: the MSc.
- Master’s or engineering degree: the 11-month Fast-Track, starting in January.
The Malaysian Qualifications Agency keeps the Malaysian Qualifications Register (MQR), which records the accreditation status of programmes. A saved copy of your programme’s MQR entry is a quick answer if anyone abroad asks about your degree, particularly one from a private institution.
Lodging the visa at the Embassy in Kuala Lumpur
France-Visas directs Malaysian applicants to the visa section of the French Embassy on the 31st floor of Integra Tower, 348 Jalan Tun Razak. Applications are taken by appointment, Monday to Friday from 9 am to noon, and passports are collected without an appointment between noon and 12.30 pm. Visa fees are set in euros but payable only in ringgit and only in cash, so bring the right amount on the day. The Embassy alone decides whether to issue the visa.

English level and the journey
If your previous studies were taught in English, AI2 accepts that schooling as an alternative to IELTS or TOEFL; our page on studying in France without IELTS explains what to send. For the flight, compare any non-stop Kuala Lumpur to Paris departures with one-stop routings, and book once the visa is in your passport. Families weighing the overall cost can look at scholarships for international students.
