Study AI in France from Uzbekistan

The Seine and the Eiffel Tower, Paris

Looking for a master’s in France as a Uzbek student? AI2 offers English-taught MSc programmes in applied AI, data science, cybersecurity and IoT near Paris, open to graduates from Uzbekistan, with a French State qualification at master’s level (RNCP level 7).

Uzbek applicants face fewer formalities than students from many other countries: Uzbekistan is not one of the 75 countries that use Campus France’s Études en France procedure, so an AI2 offer leads straight to France-Visas and the visa centre in Tashkent. This guide covers how Uzbek qualifications line up with AI2’s programmes, the change of visa provider in 2026 and what to budget in soums.

Matching Uzbek qualifications to AI2 programmes

Uzbekistan’s Law on Education of 2020 sets eleven years of compulsory general secondary schooling, with academic lyceums offering a two-year track after nine years of basic school. The same law defines the bakalavr as lasting at least three years and the magistratura as at least one further year. Check how long your own degree took:

  • School-leaving certificate or academic lyceum diploma, with mathematics: the Bachelor in Applied AI, three years, RNCP level 6.
  • Two completed years of a bakalavr: the BSc final-year top-up.
  • A completed bakalavr in computer science, engineering, mathematics or statistics: the MSc Applied AI, with a Data Science, Cybersecurity or IoT track.
  • A four-year bakalavr or a magistr in a related field: you may also be considered for the 11-month Fast-Track starting in January, subject to the academic team’s review.

No Études en France step: straight to France-Visas

Campus France’s official list of Études en France countries does not include Uzbekistan. Once AI2 has sent your admission letter, you complete the long-stay application on France-Visas yourself and book a visa appointment; there is no pre-consular interview. Only the visa section of the French Embassy in Tashkent can decide on the application.

Tashkent: TLScontact replaced VFS Global in 2026

France-Visas states that since 11 March 2026, applicant reception, fingerprints, document intake and passport return have been outsourced to TLScontact, at the INCO Business Centre, 32 Fidokor Street, 4th floor, Tashkent. Appointments are booked on the TLScontact website or by phone; VFS Global no longer takes new bookings.

Two payment rules are particular to Uzbekistan. The consular fee is set in euros but can only be paid in soums, at the rate fixed by the embassy, and TLScontact’s service charge (the equivalent of €31) is paid online in soums when you book. For a long-stay visa, France-Visas recommends leaving three months between lodging your file and the day you fly.

English tests in fourteen cities

The British Council holds IELTS in Tashkent, Andijan, Bukhara, Fergana, Gulistan, Samarkand, Jizzakh, Namangan, Navoiy, Nukus, Kokand, Karshi, Termez and Urgench. AI2 asks for IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 72 or equivalent. If your degree was taught entirely in English, read studying in France without IELTS before booking a test.

Scholarships, budget and the flight to Paris

Campus France Uzbekistan publishes details of the El-yurt umidi Foundation’s study-abroad scholarships. Conditions include two years of work experience and five years of service in state organisations afterwards, so ask the foundation whether a given programme qualifies. AI2’s own reductions are explained in our page on scholarships in France.

Rent, food and transport near Paris are covered in our cost of studying AI in France guide. Paris Aéroport lists Uzbekistan Airways flights from both Tashkent and Urgench to Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Terminal 2D; from there, trains run to Gare du Nord, and the Écouen campus is 22 minutes further on.

Practical tip: Book your TLScontact slot as soon as the AI2 admission letter arrives, and prepare originals and copies of everything on the checklist France-Visas generates for your profile.
