On 24 and 25 February 2026, AI2 students took part in the GAIA hackathon (Generative Artificial Intelligence for Agriculture) organised by La Ferme Digitale at the Salon International de l’Agriculture in Paris, alongside the Chambre d’agriculture de Normandie.

The challenge
Around seventy participants worked for 48 hours on generative AI applied to agricultural challenges. The AI2 team’s brief: design a tool that helps livestock farmers measure the technical and economic impact of a transition to grass-based systems, using the INOSYS Élevage case studies as reference data.
From an ambition to quantified objectives
Two days of debate, questioning and rapid iteration produced a prototype that turns a farm’s ambition into quantified objectives. The project combined data preparation, economic modelling and a generative-AI interface, exactly the kind of work where technology meets concrete, real-world stakes.

Congratulations to the students, and thanks to La Ferme Digitale, the Chambres d’agriculture de Normandie and all the teams. Student challenges are part of every AI2 programme: see the events and student challenges page.
