Want to study cybersecurity in France, in English? Cyber defence is one of the fastest-growing fields in Europe, driven by new regulations such as NIS2 and by the spread of AI. AI2’s MSc Applied AI & Cybersecurity combines both: securing industrial systems, and securing the AI inside them.
What you learn
- Analyse cyber risk for industrial information systems.
- Architect zero trust: IT/OT segmentation, the Purdue model, identity and access management.
- Simulate attacks and test defences.
- Detect with AI: AI-based detection and SOC operations — SOC, SIEM and incident response.
- Applied cryptography and threat intelligence.
- Secure AI systems: protect models and data pipelines against attacks and misuse.
The two-year route totals 1,000 hours — a 500-hour applied AI foundation and a 500-hour cybersecurity year — followed by six months in a company. It prepares for the French Level 7 title RNCP39978 with a cybersecurity specialisation. Direct entry into Year 2 (18 months) is possible after a related four- or five-year degree.
Real challenges in cyber defence
In November 2025, an AI2 Master 1 team took part in the CND Hackathon 2025 of the French Ministry of the Armed Forces at the Mont-Valérien fortress, using AI to anticipate failures on a military network. Participation in a cryptography hackathon is planned for November 2026.

Tuition and admission
