Yes, Brazilian students can study AI in France in English, with no French required at AI2. You get an acceptance letter, complete the pre-consular file and interview, then file at the consulate for your state. Here is every step, with the costs in reais.
In short: Brazilian students admitted directly to a French school use Campus France Brasil’s pre-consular procedure, at R$600, with a mandatory in-person interview. The visa is then filed at the French post for your state: Brasília, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro or Recife. There is no contractor. At AI2, the Bachelor costs €9,000 a year (about R$54,900) in Years 1 and 2, and MSc Year 1 costs €12,500 (about R$76,200), from €10,500 with scholarship. Your route from Brazil in 6 steps
When to start
Campus France Brasil advises starting three to six months before classes. Processing usually takes 10 to 15 working days, and June to September is the peak. Campus France says the visa cannot be requested more than two months before studies start, while the embassy says up to six months before departure, so check with your consulate. For February 2027, start now, or aim for May or September.
Brazilians can stay up to 90 days without a visa, but a course over 90 days needs a student visa, and it cannot be requested from inside France. Your passport must stay valid at least 3 months after the end of the visa.
How much money you must show
France requires at least €877.50 a month, about R$5,400. Twelve months comes to €10,530, about R$64,200. Campus France says the proof rules are set by the consulate of your jurisdiction, so check its list.
Does a Brazilian diploma get you in?
Campus France says no bilateral agreement automatically revalidates diplomas between France and Brazil, and you do not need to revalidate before applying: each institution decides your level. These are AI2’s entry points, and admissions confirms yours in writing. The ENEM floors in Campus France’s guide belong to the public first-year route, and AI2’s published entry rules do not name an ENEM score.
| Your background | AI2 entry to ask about | What admissions looks at |

| One year of faculdade | Bachelor, Year 2 | One validated year in a related field |
| Tecnólogo or two years of faculdade | Bachelor, Year 3 | Two years of higher education in a related field |
| Bacharelado or licenciatura | MSc, Year 1 | Your degree, transcripts and field of study |
English: AI2 asks for B2 level, shown by IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 72 or English-medium schooling. TOEFL iBT and IELTS are both available in Brazil, with IELTS centres in cities such as São Paulo, Rio, Brasília and Curitiba. Apostille: the pre-consular page does not ask for one. If you are told you need it, authorised cartórios issue it under the CNJ. Back home: foreign diplomas are recognised through the Carolina Bori platform, so check how your title will be treated before you enrol.
Funding
AI2’s scholarships for excellence and early application can bring MSc Year 1 from €12,500 down to €10,500. We found no official Brazilian funding for a private French Bachelor or MSc: the Embassy’s Master 2 grant targets public institutions, and CAPES prioritises doctorates. Budget from your own funds and family.
Student visa or working holiday?
France and Brazil run a working holiday scheme with 500 visas a year. It lasts one year, and work is secondary. It is not a route into a Bachelor or MSc.
Is an AI2 qualification recognised?
AI2’s degree programmes prepare RNCP titles at Levels 6 and 7, recognised by the French State. Campus France states that the value of a French diploma is guaranteed by the State for national diplomas, Ministry-approved diplomas and titles registered in the RNCP. You can look up each code on the France Compétences website. See is AI2 recognised and all programmes.
After you graduate
The one-year job-search permit is open to master’s-level graduates, among others, so most bachelor’s graduates who want to stay continue to a master’s first. Any AI2 BSc graduate can progress to MSc Year 1. No school can promise a job or a visa, and AI2 does not. While you study, the student visa allows up to 964 hours of work a year.
Getting to the campus
Air France lists Rio to Paris-CDG twice daily from 21 December 2026, direct flights from São Paulo, and services from Fortaleza and Salvador. Check the current schedule before you book. Also read visa guidance, the guides for Argentina, Chile and Mexico, and all country guides.
