Chandigarh is one of the few Indian cities where you can attend the Campus France interview and give your visa biometrics without leaving town. If you are applying to AI2 from the Tricity, the points below are the ones that are genuinely local to you.
AI2 – Applied Institute of Artificial Intelligence is an applied AI school on the Écouen campus, 22 minutes from Paris Gare du Nord. Its programmes are taught in English and prepare qualifications registered by the French State with France Compétences (RNCP) at level 6 (bachelor’s level) and level 7 (master’s level).
Applying from Chandigarh: what is specific to you
Two local addresses
- Campus France: Alliance Française de Chandigarh, Hibiscus Garden Road, Sector 36-A. This is where your Études en France interview is organised.
- VFS Global (French visas): Elante Offices, Office Block B, Unit B 209, entry from Gate No. 3, Industrial and Business Park Phase I.
- Alternative for Punjab: a second VFS centre for France operates in Jalandhar (Aman Plaza, Nakodar Chowk).
When we checked France-Visas in October 2026, the Chandigarh centre accepted applications on Tuesdays and Thursdays only, by appointment, and returned passports on the same two days. Jalandhar keeps the same pattern. Delhi, by contrast, is open for submissions from Monday to Friday.
Local universities and the right AI2 entry point
Higher education in the city is anchored by Panjab University, whose departments include Computer Science & Applications, and by Punjab Engineering College, a deemed-to-be university in Sector 12. Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park is the Union Territory’s dedicated IT park. Students finishing Class 12 with mathematics can aim for the three-year Bachelor in Applied AI; anyone who already has two years of higher education may be eligible for the BSc final year (top-up) instead, which leads to the same RNCP level 6 qualification in a single year.
Reaching Paris from the Tricity
Chandigarh International Airport (IXC) is the starting point for most journeys, with a connection on the way. Air France’s 2026 schedule names Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru among the Indian cities where it is adding capacity to Paris, and Delhi is the closest of the three to Chandigarh. Allow a comfortable connection time if your domestic and international flights are on separate tickets.
