Namibian applicants hand in their French student visa in Windhoek, at the Capago desk inside the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre, although the decision itself is taken in Johannesburg. School-leaving results in Namibia now combine NSSCO and NSSCAS subjects, and below we show how those, and a Namibian degree, fit AI2’s programmes.
AI2 – Applied Institute of Artificial Intelligence is an applied AI school on the Écouen campus, 22 minutes from Paris Gare du Nord. Its programmes are taught in English and prepare French State qualifications registered with France Compétences (RNCP) at level 6 (bachelor’s level) and level 7 (master’s level).
Applying from Namibia: what is specific to you
Reading your NSSCO and NSSCAS results
The University of Namibia’s admission rules show the current pattern: school leavers present NSSCAS (Advanced Subsidiary) subjects alongside NSSCO (Ordinary) ones, while older certificates may carry NSSCH subjects instead. For AI2’s Bachelor Year 1, the requirement is the NSSCAS with mathematics. Further up:
- BSc final year: an HND or two years of a degree in computing or engineering.
- MSc Applied AI: a bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics or a similar field.
- Fast-Track: an engineering degree, a master’s, or four years of related higher education; it starts each January.
Capago at the FNCC, Robert Mugabe Avenue
The French Embassy in Windhoek does not issue visas, so on France-Visas you select South Africa as the country of submission. Your file and biometrics are taken by Capago at the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre, 118 Robert Mugabe Avenue. Campus France South Africa confirms there is no Études en France stage for students living in Namibia: the Johannesburg consulate deals with them directly. Capago charges €120 for its base service and €30 for passport transfer, paid in local currency, and returns passports through Namlog at 12 New Castle Street, Windhoek, on weekdays from 7am to 5pm.

Coming home with a French qualification
The Namibia Qualifications Authority evaluates foreign qualifications and expresses them in terms of the Namibian National Qualifications Framework. Its regulations require foreign awards to be confirmed by the awarding body, copies to be certified in Namibia or at a Namibian embassy, and they state that the outcome is not binding on employers or institutions.
IELTS and flights from Windhoek
IELTS is offered by the British Council at the Namibia Institute of Public Administration in Olympia, Windhoek. Airlink flies Windhoek to Johannesburg for Air France’s Paris service, and Ethiopian Airlines serves Windhoek with connections through Addis Ababa. The Botswana guide covers a comparable route.
