In short
  • Your previous diploma sets your entry year: Bachelor Year 1 after secondary school, the BSc final year (B3) after two years of higher education, MSc Year 1 after a three-year Bachelor’s, direct MSc Year 2 with a four- or five-year degree.
  • English at B2 level: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 72 or equivalent; a medium-of-instruction certificate may support a waiver. French is not required.
  • Selection is a file review and an online interview. GRE and GMAT are not required.
  • Three intakes: January, May and September 2027. For January, the priority deadline is 31 October 2026.
  • The Fast-Track January (11 months) is open to holders of a four-year accredited B.Tech or BE, or a Master’s, with Python, statistics and SQL foundations.

What do you need to get into AI2? This page sets out the admission requirements for every AI2 programme in 2027: the diploma each entry year expects, the documents to send, the English level, how the interview works and the dates to plan around.

AI2 reviews every application individually and answers in writing. The admission letter confirms your entry year, track, intake, tuition and any scholarship. Nothing on this page replaces that letter: admissions may ask for more information to map your previous studies.

Bachelor Year 1 and Year 2

Year 1 is open after secondary school. AI2 asks for a leaving certificate that includes mathematics, or science for the Industrial IT track. You choose between two tracks, Data & AI or Industrial IT, and both lead to a final year preparing a French State-registered title at Level 6. Year 2 entry needs one validated year of higher education in a related field, and admissions checks your Python and SQL basics. Progression to each year requires validation of the previous one. Programme details are on the Bachelor in Applied AI page.

BSc final year (B3)

The B3 is a one-year top-up with a company placement, preparing RNCP37873 (AI-Powered Application Development) or RNCP41370 (Data Analytics & Applied AI, Industry 4.0). It accepts two years of higher education. A Pearson BTEC HND (Level 5) gives entry after a review of your units, which is why the course list or syllabus of your previous studies is part of the file. A Data & AI student can join the Industry 4.0 final year on academic review; the reverse requires the software prerequisites. See the top-up degree after an HND.

MSc Year 1 and the 18-month direct entry

A three-year Bachelor’s in computing, mathematics, engineering or science opens MSc Year 1, the applied AI common core shared by the Data Science, Cybersecurity and IoT programmes. Holders of a related four- or five-year degree can be admitted directly into Year 2, subject to academic review: twelve months of courses, then a six-month internship. Python and SQL foundations are discussed at the admission interview. Both routes lead to the same Level 7 title and diploma.

Fast-Track January (11 months)

The Fast-Track condenses Year 2 of the MSc Applied AI and Data Science into five intensive months on campus, then six months in a company in France. It is for engineers and Master’s holders with Python, statistics and SQL foundations, checked during a technical part of the interview. AI2 advises another route if you hold a three-year Bachelor’s, have never programmed, need a slower or part-time pace, or expect paid work-study in the first year. The cohort is limited: after the priority deadline, places are allocated in the order complete files are received.

Documents to prepare

  • Passport.
  • Degree certificates and academic transcripts, with certified translations where needed.
  • CV and a one-page statement of purpose.
  • Proof of English level, or a medium-of-instruction certificate.
  • For Year 2, the B3 or direct MSc Year 2: the course list or syllabus of your previous studies.

The online application form lets you attach your transcripts or CV (PDF, 2 MB maximum). Prepare scans in good quality from the start: the same documents are reused later for Campus France and the visa, where translations and originals may also be checked.

Practical tip: If your studies were taught in English, ask your school or university for a medium-of-instruction certificate before you apply: it is the document admissions looks at when you have no IELTS or TOEFL score.

English level and language of study

Every AI2 programme is taught 100% in English. The required level is B2, shown by IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 72 or an equivalent. If your previous studies were taught in English, a medium-of-instruction certificate may support a waiver; admissions confirms which evidence it accepts, case by case. For the Fast-Track, the test is waived if your degree was taught in English. Your English is also assessed during the online interview. French is not an admission requirement, and optional French classes are offered every year. Read study in France without IELTS for the details.

The online interview

After the file review and the confirmation of your entry year, the academic team invites you to an online interview. It covers your background, your projects, your motivation and your study plans, in English. For the MSc, it also checks Python and SQL foundations; for the Fast-Track, it includes a technical check on Python, statistics and SQL. There is no GRE or GMAT. Bring concrete examples: a project you built, a dataset you worked on, or a problem you solved.

After admission: the visa stage

Non-EU students who need a visa apply for a long-stay student visa (VLS-TS). In countries covered by the Études en France procedure, the Campus France stage comes first; elsewhere you apply directly on France-Visas. You must show resources of at least €877.50 a month. Once in France, the visa is validated online within three months of arrival.
