- Egyptians, and non-Schengen nationals living in Egypt, who will study in France for 90 days or more must complete Campus France Egypte’s pre-consular procedure.
- An AI2 offer is a “paper acceptance”: you open a “Je suis accepté” file on Études en France and upload the letter.
- Do it between 6 months and 4 weeks before departure; outside that window Campus France Egypte does not guarantee to process your file in time.
- You cannot go to TLScontact without first going through Campus France Egypte; you bring the printed “attestation d’acceptations”.
- Documents must be in French or English, or translated by a certified translator. Show at least €877.50 a month of resources.
Applying for a French student visa from Egypt in 2027? In Egypt the visa starts with Campus France Egypte’s “Je suis accepté” procedure on the Études en France platform, followed by a pre-consular interview and a file lodged at TLScontact. Here is how an AI2 admission fits into that path, document by document.
This guide is written for Egyptian students admitted to an English-taught programme at AI2, near Paris. It follows what Campus France Egypte publishes in French and English. Procedures, centres and fees can change: check each step on the official pages before you pay or book.

Step by step from Egypt
Apply to AI2, attend the online interview and receive your admission letter.
Create an account on the Études en France platform with a valid email address and open a “Je suis accepté” file.
Declare the AI2 offer as a paper acceptance received outside the platform, describe the programme and upload the letter.
Wait for Campus France Egypte to check your file; it then sends the fee payment details and a pre-consular interview notice.
Attend the interview; prepare with our Campus France interview questions.
After validation, print the “attestation d’acceptations” PDF from Part 3 of your file and book TLScontact.
Lodge your visa file at TLScontact, then, once in France, validate the visa on the ANEF portal within three months.
The “Je suis accepté” procedure for an AI2 offer
Who it applies to
Campus France Egypte states that its pre-consular procedure concerns Egyptian students, and foreign students who are not Schengen nationals and live in Egypt, who will study in France for 90 days or more. It is compulsory before you lodge a paper file at TLScontact, and you cannot go directly to TLScontact without passing through Campus France Egypte. If a stay is shorter than 90 days, the route is different: a short-stay student visa requested directly at TLScontact. AI2 programmes last longer, so the pre-consular procedure applies.
Declaring a paper acceptance, field by field
Because AI2 admits you directly, your offer counts as a paper acceptance, received by email rather than through the platform. Campus France Egypte describes the sequence:
- Select “Une acceptation papier reçue en dehors de la plateforme Études en France”.
- Select “Je suis dans un autre cas”, then “Autre”, and search for the programme in the catalogue; if it is not there, describe it: year of entry, level, diploma prepared.
- Enter the dates of your stay: the start of the academic year and the end of the programme.
- Write your motivation.
- Scan the acceptance letter, which must mention the start date, the level, the programme and the language of teaching.
- Confirm your final choice online.
Timing: the 6-month to 4-week window
Campus France Egypte asks you to complete the pre-consular procedure at least four weeks and at most six months before your departure date; beyond that, it does not guarantee to process your file in time. In practice, start as soon as your AI2 letter arrives, and aim to have your interview behind you well before the four-week mark, because TLScontact still has to receive your file and the consulate still has to decide.
The two Campus France Egypte offices
Campus France Egypte works from the Institut français d’Égypte in Cairo, at Mounira (1 Madrasset El Huquq El Frenseya), and in Alexandria (30 rue Nabi Daniel). Meetings with the Campus France advisers are by appointment; the Alexandria office lists slots between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Contact the office nearest you for available times.
Documents Campus France Egypte asks for
| Document | What Campus France Egypte specifies |
|---|---|
| Identity | A scan of your passport and a recent photograph (50 KB maximum). |
| Academic record | Thanaweya Amma certificate and transcripts, and the diplomas and transcripts of everything studied since; a certificate of registration for the current year if you are still studying. |
| Language certificate | IELTS or TOEFL for English, or DELF, DALF or TCF for French (or proof of registration for one of these exams). |
| Experience | CV and any certificates of professional experience or internships. |
| Acceptance | The AI2 admission letter. |
All documents must be in French or English, or translated by a certified translator. Campus France Egypte publishes a list of translation offices whose signatures are recognised by the Consulate General of France in Cairo; use one of them for anything in Arabic. AI2’s own admission accepts B2 English, and English-medium studies may support a waiver: see study in France without IELTS. For the visa itself, also prepare proof of resources of at least €877.50 a month (bank certificate, sponsor attestation with proof of income, or scholarship letter), accommodation for your first weeks and travel insurance.
TLScontact and the consulate
Once Campus France Egypte has validated your file and you have printed the attestation d’acceptations, you make an appointment with TLScontact, the visa service provider, to lodge the paper file for the consulate. TLScontact receives files in four centres: Cairo (Sheikh Zayed City, 6th of October), East Cairo (Sodic Eastown, New Cairo), Alexandria (Bab Sharqi) and Hurghada; visa decisions are taken by the Consulate General of France in Cairo. Addresses and opening days can change, so check the current list on the TLScontact site linked from France-Visas before you travel, together with the list of required documents and the fees.

Which AI2 programme fits an Egyptian diploma
Admissions confirms each case, but AI2’s guidance for Egypt is: Thanaweya Amma with mathematics for the Bachelor in Applied AI; two completed years of a computing or engineering bachelor’s for the BSc final year; a bachelor’s in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or statistics for the MSc; and a five-year engineering degree or a four-year related bachelor’s possibly for the 11-month Fast-Track, which starts in January. The level you declare on Études en France must match the level on your AI2 letter.
A realistic calendar from Cairo or Alexandria
| Intake | Apply to AI2 | Je suis accepté and TLScontact | Arrive |
|---|---|---|---|
| January 2027 | By the 31 October 2026 priority deadline | Open the file at once; complete visa file by 30 November 2026 | Early January |
| May 2027 | November 2026 to February 2027 | From six months before departure | Late April or early May |
| September 2027 | January to May 2027 | From March for a late-August departure | Late August or early September |
If January is too tight once you count the four-week minimum, the May intake keeps the same programmes and fees: see the January and May intakes.
After you arrive
The VLS-TS student visa is valid for four months to one year. Validate it on the ANEF portal within three months of arrival and pay the €100 tax; after three months, leaving France with an unvalidated visa means applying for a new one to return. Then register with the French health insurance and open a bank account. Budget and housing are covered in the cost of studying AI in France, student accommodation in Paris and life in France.
Avoid a refusal
Inconsistent documents, funds that are hard to trace and an interview that does not match the declared programme are frequent problems. Read the most common reasons for a French student visa rejection before your pre-consular interview.
