Applying for a French student visa from Bangladesh in 2027? The path has two parts: the Campus France procedure, run from Dhaka, then the long-stay student visa examined by the Embassy of France in Dhaka. It is written for Bangladeshi students who already hold, or are about to receive, an admission letter for an English-taught programme at AI2, on the Écouen campus near Paris. The official steps come from Campus France Bangladesh, the Embassy of France and France-Visas; procedures change, so confirm each one on the official site before you pay or book anything.

Campus France Bangladesh: what to expect
Where the office is and how to reach it
Campus France Bangladesh is based at the Alliance Française de Dhaka, 26 Mirpur Road, corner of Road 3, Dhanmondi, Dhaka 1205. The office asks students interested in higher education in France to contact it by email, at bangladesh@campusfrance.org, to arrange an appointment. If you live in Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi or Khulna, plan the trip to Dhanmondi into your calendar from the start.
The interview comes first
Campus France Bangladesh states that the visa process begins, and is clarified, during its interview, and that this interview must be completed before you apply for the visa. Treat it as an academic conversation: why this programme, why France, how your previous studies lead to it, and what you plan to do afterwards. Your AI2 admission letter, transcripts and statement of purpose should tell the same story.
Fees
The Campus France Bangladesh pages we checked do not publish the amount of the Études en France fee. Ask the office directly by email before you register, and pay only through the channel it gives you, never through an agent’s account.
The visa application from Bangladesh
The long-stay student visa, called VLS-TS “étudiant”, lets you study in France for four months to one year; after that you renew it as a student residence permit in France. In Bangladesh, Campus France asks you to prepare the visa file in line with the requirements published by the Embassy of France in Dhaka, which has moved its website to bd.diplomatie.gouv.fr. The embassy directs applicants to France-Visas, the official portal, for three things: the online application form, the place where you lodge your file, and the tracking of your application.
For questions on the visa itself, Campus France Bangladesh gives the email of the embassy’s consular section, visas.dacca-amba@diplomatie.gouv.fr. Before you book anything, read the Bangladesh page of France-Visas: it explains where student files are lodged in Bangladesh and how appointments work. Only the embassy decides on visas, and admission to AI2 does not guarantee one.

Documents to prepare in Bangladesh
- Passport valid for your whole stay, and ID photos.
- AI2 admission letter stating the programme, intake, tuition and language of teaching, plus the enrolment certificate once the deposit is paid.
- Academic records: SSC and HSC certificates and mark sheets, and your bachelor’s or master’s certificates and transcripts, with certified translations where a document is not in English.
- Proof of resources: at least €877.50 a month, about €10,530 for twelve months.
- Proof of accommodation for your first weeks in France.
- Travel insurance until you join the French health insurance.
- English proof or a medium-of-instruction certificate, as accepted by AI2.
For the funds, AI2’s visa guidance lists three usual forms: a bank certificate in your name showing the amount for the year, a sponsor’s attestation of financial support with the sponsor’s proof of income, or a scholarship award letter covering living costs. Tuition is separate and must be planned on top. How families in Bangladesh usually transfer tuition abroad is covered in our guide to studying AI in France from Bangladesh.
Which AI2 programme fits a Bangladeshi diploma
Admissions maps your qualifications individually, but AI2’s published guidance for Bangladesh is: the HSC with mathematics, or A-levels, for Bachelor Year 1; two completed years of a bachelor’s for the BSc final year (top-up); a four-year bachelor’s in CSE, EEE, software engineering, mathematics or statistics for the MSc; and an MS or MSc in a related field for the 11-month Fast-Track, which starts in January. Getting the entry year right matters for the visa, because the study plan you defend at Campus France has to match it.
A realistic calendar from Dhaka
| Intake | Apply to AI2 | Campus France and visa | Arrive |
|---|---|---|---|
| January 2027 | By the 31 October 2026 priority deadline | Complete visa file expected by 30 November 2026 | Early January |
| May 2027 | November 2026 to February 2027 | Contact Campus France Bangladesh as soon as the letter arrives | Late April or early May |
| September 2027 | January to May 2027 | Spring to early summer | Late August or early September |
AI2 recommends starting six to eight months before your intake because appointments fill up quickly. If January looks too tight once you count the Campus France appointment and the visa, the May intake is the natural alternative, with the same programmes and fees.
After you land in France
Within three months of arrival, validate your VLS-TS online on the ANEF portal and pay the €100 tax. Campus France warns that if you have not validated it after three months and you leave France, you will need a new visa to come back. Then register with the French health insurance, which is free for students, open a bank account and settle into your accommodation. With a validated student visa you may work up to 964 hours a year. The first weeks are described on life in France, and the full budget in the cost of studying AI in France.
Avoid a refusal
Most refusals come from unclear funds, a study plan that does not match your background, or a weak interview. Read the most common reasons for a French student visa rejection before your Campus France appointment.
