Students in Abuja have a Campus France office in the capital but, for the moment, must lodge their visa in another city. This guide explains that split, lists Abuja universities whose graduates match AI2’s programmes, and covers the airport and flights.
AI2 – Applied Institute of Artificial Intelligence is an applied AI school on the Écouen campus, 22 minutes from Paris Gare du Nord. Its programmes are taught in English and prepare French State qualifications registered with France Compétences (RNCP) at level 6 (bachelor’s level) and level 7 (master’s level).
Applying from Abuja: what is specific to you
Campus France Abuja
Campus France Nigeria’s Abuja office is located within the Institut Français at 52 Libreville Street, off Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2. It deals with applicants who live in northern Nigeria and opens to visitors and phone calls from Monday to Friday, 2 pm to 5 pm. General questions about programmes go to info.abuja@campusfrancenigeria.org.
Why your visa appointment is in Lagos for now
TLScontact has a centre in the Central Business District (ground floor, Murkhtar El-Yakub Square, next to Metro Plaza, Zakariya Maimalari Street). France-Visas states, however, that from 17 November 2025 and until further notice this centre receives only three groups: family of French nationals, family reunification cases and diplomatic travellers. A student from Abuja therefore books with TLScontact Lagos on Victoria Island and has to plan the journey south. The rest of the procedure is in our France student visa from Nigeria guide.
Abuja institutions and AI2 entry routes
- African University of Science and Technology (Galadimawa), which has a School of Computing and Information Technology: computer science graduates can apply for the MSc Applied AI.
- Nile University of Nigeria (Jabi Airport Bypass), with a Faculty of Computing Studies: its computing graduates follow the same MSc route.
- University of Abuja: graduates in computing, engineering, mathematics or statistics meet the MSc entry condition; those with four years of related higher education can ask about the 11-month Fast-Track.
- HND holders from any accredited polytechnic: AI2’s BSc final year, one year to RNCP level 6.
AI2 has no partnership with these universities, and every applicant is assessed individually.
