Looking for a master’s in France as a Nigerian student? AI2 offers English-taught MSc programmes in applied AI, data science, cybersecurity and IoT near Paris, open to graduates from Nigeria, with a State-registered qualification at master’s level (RNCP level 7).
Nigerian applicants arrive with a wide mix of credentials: WAEC or NECO results, polytechnic diplomas, and university degrees graded by class. This guide shows how each one lines up with an AI2 programme near Paris, what the Études en France step means for residents of Nigeria, and what the main costs come to in naira.
AI2 – Applied Institute of Artificial Intelligence is an applied AI school on the Écouen campus, 22 minutes from Paris Gare du Nord. Its programmes are taught in English and lead to French qualifications registered at bachelor’s and master’s level.
Applying from Nigeria: how your qualifications fit
After secondary school: WASSCE or NECO
If your highest qualification is the WASSCE (set by WAEC) or the NECO SSCE, the starting point is the Bachelor in Applied AI. Mathematics carries the most weight for an AI degree, so it needs to appear among your results. When an institution abroad needs WAEC results confirmed, WAEC Nigeria runs a confirmation-of-result service: you submit a copy of the certificate or the online result, a sworn affidavit and passport photographs, and WAEC sends the confirmation directly to the institution, never to the candidate.
After a polytechnic: ND and HND
An HND is the most direct way into the BSc final year, a one-year top-up leading to an RNCP level 6 qualification. If you stopped at the ND, the admissions team reads your transcript to judge whether it amounts to two years of higher education, which is the other entry condition. Send both ND and HND transcripts if you hold both: together they show the whole of your technical training.
After university: BSc, B.Eng or B.Tech
- MSc Applied AI (Data Science, Cybersecurity or IoT): open to holders of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, mathematics, statistics or a close field. Your class of degree and full transcript form part of the file.
- 11-month Fast-Track (January start): for applicants with a master’s, an engineering degree or four years of higher education in a related field. Whether a particular Nigerian degree meets that threshold is decided from the transcript, case by case.
- English: AI2 asks for B2 level, and schooling in English counts. Many Nigerian graduates can therefore rely on their English-medium education rather than an IELTS score; see study in France without IELTS.
Études en France applies to you
Nigeria is on Campus France’s official list of Études en France countries, so residents complete an online file and a Campus France interview before they can book a visa appointment. Campus France Nigeria splits applicants by region: its Abuja office deals with those living in the North, its Lagos office with those in the South. The detailed procedure, the document checklist and the TLScontact appointment are set out in our France student visa from Nigeria guide, and local addresses are in the Lagos and Abuja pages.

Frequently asked questions
Can I join AI2 with NECO results instead of WAEC?
Yes. The Bachelor accepts WASSCE or NECO results, provided mathematics is included. The academic team reviews the certificate during the file review and online interview.
I have an HND from a Nigerian polytechnic. Which programme fits?
The BSc final year, which you enter directly with an HND and complete in one year at RNCP level 6. You can then apply for the MSc.
Is my Nigerian BSc enough for the MSc?
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, mathematics, statistics or a related field meets the MSc entry condition. Degrees in less closely related subjects are assessed individually from the transcript.
Who checks my file before the visa: Campus France or the embassy?
Both have a role. Campus France Nigeria reviews your Études en France file and interviews you; the visa decision belongs to the French Embassy in Abuja or the Consulate General of France in Lagos.
Apply online: the academic team reviews your file and invites you to an online interview.
