Applying from Nepal: what is specific to you

From +2 or a four-year degree to an AI2 programme

  • NEB Grade 12 (+2), or A-levels: entry to the Bachelor in Applied AI.
  • Two completed years of a bachelor’s: the one-year BSc final year (top-up).
  • A four-year bachelor’s in a related field, for example BSc CSIT or a BE in computer or electronics engineering: the MSc Applied AI. Four years of related higher education can also be assessed for the 11-month Fast-Track.
  • A master’s degree: the Fast-Track, which awards the level-7 qualification in under a year.

What Campus France Nepal checks

Nepal is covered by the Études en France (EEF) procedure. Campus France Nepal sends students to the EEF platform for public universities and for the pre-consular visa step, and notes that most private institutions can be applied to directly. For the interview, it asks you to bring the interview letter, the pre-registration certificate and the payment receipt generated by the EEF-Pastel application, the separate receipt issued by Campus France Nepal, your passport, original degrees and proof of experience, any language certificates, original proof of tuition fee payment and proof of accommodation.

The tuition-payment item deserves attention: plan your deposit to the school before the interview date, not after it.

Practical tip: Keep both receipts together in your interview folder: the one generated by the EEF-Pastel platform and the one Campus France Nepal issues itself. The checklist asks for each.

Lodging the visa: received in Kathmandu, decided in New Delhi

France-Visas tells applicants living in Nepal to submit through VFS Global in Kathmandu, which receives files under the authority of the French Embassy in New Delhi. When completing the online form, select India as the country where the application is submitted. The centre’s address and days are on our Kathmandu guide.

Before you transfer fees

Nepal’s Ministry of Education, Science and Technology issues No Objection Certificates (NOC) for study abroad through its online portal, noc.moest.gov.np. Check the current requirements and fee there once you hold your admission letter.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Études en France procedure apply in Nepal?

Yes. Nepal is on Campus France’s list of countries covered by the procedure, and Campus France Nepal uses the EEF platform for the pre-consular visa step.

Why do I select India on France-Visas?

Visa files lodged in Nepal are processed by the consular section of the French Embassy in New Delhi, so France-Visas tells applicants in Nepal to choose India as the country of submission.

Is my BSc CSIT accepted for the MSc?

A four-year BSc CSIT is a bachelor’s in a related field, which is what the MSc requires. The academic team reviews your transcript and, given the four years of study, may also discuss the Fast-Track.

Do I need proof of tuition payment for the Campus France interview?

Yes. Campus France Nepal’s interview checklist includes original proof of tuition fee payment, alongside proof of accommodation and your original degrees.
