One destination, seven different procedures. The degree is the same, but the Campus France step, the fee and the visa centre change from one country to the next. This guide compares them, then points you to the detailed guide for your country.
⚠️ Important: no deposit, no enrolment certificate
AI2 issues your enrolment certificate only after your €5,000 deposit is paid. Campus France and the consulate ask for this certificate: without the deposit, your Études en France file and your visa application cannot go ahead.
Applying to AI2 is free: there is no application fee. If your visa or your Campus France file is officially refused, the deposit is refunded minus €300 of administrative fees, on presentation of the refusal letter. Pay only by the instructions in your AI2 documents, never to a personal account.

Why France, from Southeast Asia?
- Taught in English. You do not need French for AI2’s programmes.
- Applied degrees. AI, data science, cybersecurity and IoT, built around projects.
- State-recognised RNCP titles at Levels 6 and 7.
- A base in Europe. A French long-stay visa or residence permit allows short stays in other Schengen countries, up to 90 days in any 180-day period. It is not a right to live or work there.
- Time after your degree. Master’s-level graduates can request a 12-month job-search or business-creation card if their diploma qualifies. A job or a permit is never guaranteed.

Timing your intake
AI2’s 2027 intakes are February, May and September. If you have not started Campus France yet, May or September is usually safer than February. The February and May intake guide explains the calendar.
Frequently asked questions
Can students from Southeast Asia study in France in English?
Yes. AI2’s Bachelor and MSc programmes are taught 100% in English near Paris, with no French required. You need English at B2 level, for example IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 72, or proof of English-medium schooling, depending on your file.
Do I need Campus France if I am from Southeast Asia?
In most cases, yes. Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines and Cambodia each have a Campus France step before the long-stay visa, but it differs by country. Follow the guide for your country.
How much does it cost to study AI in France?
At AI2, the Bachelor is €9,000 a year and MSc Year 1 is €12,500, from €10,500 with a scholarship. You must also show at least €877.50 a month for living costs, and pay your local Campus France fee and visa costs.
When can I start?
AI2’s 2027 intakes are February, May and September. Start your file early: Campus France and the visa can take several months, depending on your country.
Why choose France rather than Singapore or Australia?
It depends on your goal. France offers English-taught applied degrees, State-recognised RNCP titles at AI2, and short-stay travel across the Schengen area. Your budget, your career plan and the country where you want to work should decide.
Can I work in France during my studies?
Yes. A student visa allows 964 hours of work a year without a separate work authorisation. After a master’s-level degree, you can request a 12-month job-search card if your diploma qualifies.
